In every test, kavain (4) is one of the three most abundant Kavalactones, and dihydromethysticin (5) and desmethoxyyangonin (1) are the two least abundant. The exact order (the chemotype) shifts from harvest to harvest, which is normal for a natural root.

What a Kava COA tells you

A certificate of analysis (COA) is the lab report for a specific sample. For Kava it shows the total Kavalactone percentage and the amount of each of the six major Kavalactones, which gives the chemotype. Buyers use it to confirm they’re getting noble Kava at a known strength.

01

Total Kavalactones

The percentage of Kavalactones in the root. Ours has tested 10.0–17.24%, averaging 13.6% across five tests.

02

Chemotype

The six Kavalactones ranked by amount, using the standard numbers: 1 desmethoxyyangonin, 2 dihydrokavain, 3 yangonin, 4 kavain, 5 dihydromethysticin, 6 methysticin.

03

Noble profile

Noble Kava tends to have kavain (4) near the front of the chemotype. Ours has had kavain in the top three in every test.

Lab results FAQ

What is the Kavalactone content of Qamea Kava?
Across five independent tests from 2021 to 2026, Qamea Kava root tested between 10.0% and 17.24% total Kavalactones, an average of 13.6% (about 14%). The latest test (Murray-Brown Laboratories, April 2026) was 10.0%.

Are Qamea Kava’s COAs public?
Yes. Every Kavalactone certificate of analysis is published in full on this page, from Murray-Brown Laboratories, Wonderland Labs, the Fiji Agricultural Chemistry Laboratory (Ministry of Agriculture) and Botany Evolution.

Is Qamea Kava noble Kava?
Yes. Qamea only grows Noble Fijian Kava (Waka) on its own farm on Qamea Island, Fiji. Fiji’s government lab graded its 5-year Waka roots Beverage grade, and Botany Evolution’s test returned a Noble Kavalactone profile.

What is Qamea Kava’s chemotype?
It varies by harvest, as with any natural root. In every test kavain (4) is among the top three Kavalactones and dihydromethysticin (5) and desmethoxyyangonin (1) are the lowest two. Each published COA lists the exact order.
